IstartedSomething posted screenshots of the updated version of Windows Mobile 6.5.1. The differences of the design are clearly visible on them although this is not Windows Mobile 7, but not 6.5 too.
Windows Mobile 6.5.1 includes elements of larger size, easy to control without a stylus, using your fingers. Besides, the interface based on tabs is no longer used. Plus, there is a new application to work with contacts, the buttons of which are also large.
The Start and Close buttons changed their position. They are placed in the bottom of the screen and the above side had more space for status information.
However, the relevant icons became smaller.
It’s not known when the final assembly of Windows Mobile 6.5.1 will be launched and available for smartphones and communicators.
by the way, the devices based on Windows Mobile 7 are expected to be launched till the end of the next year. Apparently, the previous version will be much sooner.
