With the Nokia X6 handset you are getting a good mobile phone deal, the company gives us a high-range music mobile in the X6. Is it worth every penny? Does it do more than just give us a Xpress Music fun? If you want to know the answers to these questions, read our Nokia X6 review.

To begin our little Nokia X6 review, we will have to tackle the looks of the handset first. Design-wise, we can say that we have seen better. With the straight edges, some people will find this rather on the boxy side. It is also rather thick. But once you move past these aspects, you will fall in love with the 3.2-inch touchscreen. It is a capacitive display with 16M colours. Capacitive is not common on Nokia handsets and this makes the Nokia X6 handset rather unique.

The interface of this handset is the 5th edition S60. Nothing new here. But with the much improved touchscreen, browsing your phone will be a whole lot better than other S60 handsets. This user interface is fairly easy to learn if you’re a newcomer, though. From out standpoint, using S60 on the Nokia X6 handset was pretty straightforward, no hiccups whatsoever.

In terms of messaging, this handset will give you standard touchscreen performance. On portrait mode, you’ll have the alpha-numeric keypad. On landscape, the accelerometer will work to give you a QWERTY keyboard. Message types supported are MMS, SMS, and email. The latter is easy to set up, no matter what platform you’re using. Connectivity on this smartphone is also outstanding. You’ll have every kind you’d need (GPRS, EDGE and 3G with HSDPA) plus Bluetooth, WiFi, and USB syncing. Of course, this means that you can check your emails or browse your favorite blogs anytime. And with Flash support, you’ll be able to view videos and load other heavy sites.

For the fun part, X6 has a music player, radio with RDS, and an impressive 5MP camera. This is an Xpress Music phone and you will be correct to expect it to have a fantastic music player and to be one of the best music phones. You can customise playlists and pretty much have fun with your music files. Then there is the Playlist DJ that plays music according to your mood. Sure makes choosing what music to play so much easier.

As for the camera, this handset has a 5MP unit. We expected nothing less since this is a high-range mobile. The photos we took were of great quality and were detailed because of the Carl Zeiss optics. The settings are easy to use and we ended up taking too many photos with the handset.

So here is our verdict: Nokia may not have gone for innovation when producing this handset but they did a good job on improving features that are already present in other phones. In our opinion, this mobile is worth every penny. Not in the lower range of cheap camera phones making the cheap music phones we would consider the nokia x6 to be a top of the line touch music phone.

Nokia C5: The First Information About the Business Smartphone

Soon Nokia will announced about the creation of a new line of mobile handsets – a series of C. Apparently, it will include a business-class device, which is denoted by the word Classic (remember that the recent XpressMusic musical line has been transformed into X-series, including X6 and X3 models).
And the first representative of this series will become Nokia C5 smartphone, unofficial information about which has just appeared on the web.

According to available data, the new device, operating under OS Symbian (S60 Third Edition Feature Pack 2 platform) will be equipped with a 3.2-megapixel camera, 2.2-inch screen with a resolution of 320 × 240 pixels, 50 MB internal memory, a slot for flash drives of microSD format, GPS-receiver technology to support A-GPS, 3,5-millimeter audio jacks and FM-tuner.
The device is made for GSM / GPRS / EDGE and UMTS / HSDPA networks.
It is reported that the smartphone will be announced at the exhibition of Mobile World Congress 2010, but accordin to Nokia, it does not intend to show any new product during this event.

Nokia X6 16GB – Less Memory, More Color Options

Information about Nokia X6 16GB has recently leaked on the internet. This model, unlike the older version of the music smartphone with 32 GB of internal memory, is equipped with only 16 GB.
It has not yet been formally presented, but more capacious version of Nokia X6 is being sold since last fall. It is reported that Nokia X6 16GB will have a wide colors palette and will be offered in black, white and pink or white and blue case. Perhaps the novelty will not include the Comes With Music program, as the 32 GB smartphone.
Otherwise, the characteristics of Nokia X6 16GB, will probably not undergo any changes.
3.2-inch touch screen display, 5 megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss optics, TV out, GPS receiver, support for Wi-Fi, and other features should be preserved. And, of course, S60 5th Edition software platform.
In this case, the cost of 16 GB version of Nokia X6 will be less than of the 32 GB, about 350 euros. The release of the novelty is expected in the coming months.

Nokia X6 – budget version prepared

Nokia X6, recently announced at Nokia World 2009, with a touch interface, will have a little «brother», equipped with 16 GB of memory instead of 32 GB according to rumors.

Unlike the original version priced EUR450, Nokia X6 budget version will include support of Nokia Comes With Music service, 16 GB version will not be burdened with a subscription to this service, which, in fact, is required not for everyone.

According to preliminary data, Nokia X6 16GB will be available in the UK stores starting from February 24 2010 for about $566. While the original X6 will be available from November 12. It’s starting price is about $870.
