The rumors have been confirmed. The Hero will get the Eclair update.

The rumors are true! Hero will be getting an Eclair update. We ask for your patience as we update Sense for the fancy new Android OS.

Up until now the only device having Eclair has been the Motorola Droid, just announced yesterday. It means the Hero is the second.

How will Sense UI fit into Eclair? And will we now see a huge flood of other Android devices following suit with 2.0 updates?

HTC is unable to cope with the high demand of HTC Hero

According to Jack Tong, the Vice-President of the Asia-Pacific division of HTC, the high demand and fast purchases of smartphone HTC Hero in Europe and Asia has led to shortages of the device. In other words, the company does not produce enough product to cover all the needs of potential buyers. According to Tong, they will not be able to handle the deficit up to November of this year.

HTC Hero – is quite functional and at the same time not a prohibitively expensive smartphone running Android OS. The device offers all the features needed for modern mobile devices: touch screen, the camera is sufficiently high resolution, wireless adapters, 3G support, and so on.

According to Tong, a high demand for HTC Hero did not subside until the end of this year and will continue in the first quarter of next.

Will the CDMA-version of HTC Hero by Sprint be released in a new design?

At least, it concerns the bottom of the device placed below the touchscreen. No information is available whether the other specifications of the device will be changed or not.

And it is not surprising: CDMA-version of HTC Hero has been approved by the FCC recently. The photos published here are not official – they were spread in the web through 8080.net. There are rumors that the communicator is designed for the mobile operator Sprint.

On Wednesday, HTC held a conference, in which the correspondent of online portal The Unwired was able to make live photos of the new upcoming Android-communicator under the name HTC Hero.

The lower part of the body made of an angle of 15°, which allows it lay comfortably in your hand. As you know, it’s white colored and has a special Teflon coating, which would avoid scratches.

3.2″ touch screen also has a special coating, which should protect the screen from fingerprints.

The debut of the model is scheduled for July. It will be very interesting to look not only at the hardware capabilities of the communicator, but also on the updated software.

HTC Hero leaked images

HTC Hero first leaked when HTC’s rumored Android devices of 2009 showed up. However, first image was from a computer, with the unusual for HTC, in a pink building. Yesterday at CodeAndroid photos of HTC Hero appeared from which you can make some conclusions.

In particular, we see that the unit looks quite similar to the G1, but there are differences in the management system. Is it the lack of joystick, and, possibly, QWERTY-keyboard. If this is the case, then all management of the device will be done through the touch screen.

In addition, Hero has a 3.5 mm jack for headphones – first in HTC smartphoness running Android.

Unfortunately, unknown are other specifications and release date, or markets of the Android. However, it should be noted the emerging internal competition among Android phones – Hero is not so much different (at least outwardly) from the Magic, as the Magic – from G1.
