Sony Ericsson announced results II quarter of 2008, which, in full accordance with the estimations were completely disappointing.
In II quarter of 2008, the company sold 24.4 million phones, which is 0.5 million less than the results II quarter of 2007. Revenue of the company EUR2,8 billion, decreased by EUR292 million.
Net profit is just EUR 6 million total, while in II quarter of 2007 it was EUR220 million, in I quarter of 2008 – EUR133 million
According to the President of Sony Ericsson – Dick Komiyamy, the company intends to save about EUR300 million of operating expenses annually. And the effect of these measures will appear in about a year.
According to Sony Ericsson, its market share after II quarter of 2008 doesn’t exceed 8%.
