Whilst some of us want a faster internet connection on their mobile phones or the best mp3 player software and storage others are looking for a cheaper calling plan and some are after the highest quality cameras. The novelty of camera phones has most definitely worn off now and there are few of us who are still impressed by the poor quality, inadequately sized, grainy photographs that most of our phones will produce. What’s more, it seems that the more applications and functions they add to our phones the lower the quality of each of them. Sometimes it pays to prioritise, and if it’s definitely a high quality camera phone that you’re after here are a few things to think about:
Obviously the higher the number of megapixels the better quality your photographs will be. Most of the main mobile phone producers have now released a 5 or even an 8 megapixel camera phone, though these can still vary dramatically in their capabilities as well as their price ranges. There are, however, other factors which will allow you to take great pictures. You should check the format of the photos on your phone to see what software you will be able to use to edit them on your computer. If the pictures are compatible with high quality software you will finish with much better prints in the end. Also, it may sound obvious, but the bigger the screen of your phone the easier it will be to take great pictures. A camera phone with a good zoom function is also an asset.
The Samsung Tocco Ultra Edition phone features an 8 megapixel camera and a 2.8’’ touch screen – impressive starting specifications. The autofocus and image stabiliser functions will also ensure that you’re pictures are perfect every time. An added bonus to Samsung’s latest creation is that its super fast internet connection allows you to upload your photos to websites and emails in seconds, so you can share every special moment with your family and friends.
The Tocco’s biggest rival has to be the Sony Ericson C905, which offers a fractionally better set of specifications. First of all, its 8.1 megapixel camera just pips the Tocco to the post, but the real deal breaker is that the C905 features a Xenon flash adding professional clarity and brightness to all of your photos. What’s more, the 16X zoom allows you to really get into those close-ups and the editing suite software on the phone means you can touch up your shots before sending them to your PC.
Both the Tocco and the C905 are available from the Vodafone mobile phone shop.
