Rumors circulate that Nokia is developing the Nokia 6208 classic. According to preliminary data, it is a fairly simple model for all options, with one exception – the display of the future phone will be touch sensitive with handwriting recognition.

If the not so long ago released touchscreen smartphones of Nokia – Nokia N97 and Nokia 5800 XpressMusic are based on Symbian S60 5th Edition, in this case we are dealing with a normal phone, rather than smartphone – based on the Series 40 platform. Taking into consideration the marking, Nokia 6208 Classic is market-oriented to China, where ordinary phones with touch screens are pretty popular. In this context, it becomes clear why Nokia 6208 lacks support of 3G networks UMTS.
Nokia 6208 classic specifications:
- Mobile network GSM/GPRS/EDGE (850/900/1800/1900 MHz)
- 2.8-inch TFT-touch display with a QVGA resolution of 240×320 pixels and 16M colors
- 3,2-Mp camera with LED flash
- 27 MB internal memory
- Slot for microSD memory cards
- Bluetooth and USB
- Size – 109,8×49,3×14,7 mm
- Weight – 130 grams
As the resource iDNES reports, in Europe, Finnish manufacturer will continue to use Symbian for its touchscreen smartphones.
