There are rumors in the market stating that HTC is all set to unveil a brand new quad core mobile at the forthcoming Mobile World Conference in Barcelona. These rumors have been afloat since November and all this time is was being named Edge. However, there are fresh reports that are surfacing and that is this new Handset is going to be unveiled under the new name Endeavor at the event.

The rumors have also been released by some trusted mobile phone sources and it has been revealed that like any other mobile company HTC is creating a special business buzz in order to raise curiosity. This new phone is a Smartphone and it is considered to be a product that HTC has been waiting to launch. The features of this handset are the same as the ones leaked out when the Edge was being discussed. It seems that HTC was not happy with the name and so it rechristened it as Endeavor. Nokia Profits A Bit From Lumia’s Earnings But Symbian Sinks Stocks

It is both good and bad news for Nokia this year. The Lumia series launched in the last quarter of 2011 has lightened up the earnings of the company however it has not created a significant impact on the company. The profits for the last quarter of 2011 nosedived by about 56% over the figures that were recorded the previous year. The company also received a payment of $250 million from Microsoft as an integral part of the Windows Phone agreement but that did not help much to boost the failing image of Nokia in the global mobile market. The company is still struggling with its sales in the Smartphone market and has fallen back in the race against competitors.

The sales figures of the Lumia Smartphone was over one million however this was not enough for the company to compensate for the flagging sales of its previous Smartphones based on the Symbian platform in the market. The overall sales of the company’s smartphones fell by 31% last year and the year before last taking the sales figures to just under 20 million. When compared to Apple this is unfortunate news for the company as Apple sold more than 37 million units of iphones in the bumper vacation quarter of 2011.
