It is surprising but true! Samsung has taken over Apple’s iPhone in China and the latter’s plan to team up with a sole mobile carrier has sure misfired. Reports have crept in and it seems that Samsung rules in the Chinese market with a 24.3 percent share in Smartphone sales. IPhone on the other hand hold a miserable 7.5 percent share in the market. These figures make the Apple IPhone the 5th Smartphone seller in the nation whereas Samsung is the first.
Samsung has roped in a second partner to market its devices in the Chinese mobile market. China Telecom is taking the onus to sell Samsung handsets in the nation. Apple had in the past used the services of China Unicorn. There have been reports that Apple did not wish to make a deal with China Mobile because the carrier uses a 3G standard that is the TD-SCDMA. This is one of the main reasons why Apple did not go into a deal with China Mobile in the nation. There were also further reports that an estimated 15 million iphones that have been jailbroken were sold in China’s Mobile’s network when the carrier did not actually sell the iphone.
