At CES 2010 Motorola demonstrated its new Android-smartphone BACKFLIP, formerly also known as Motus. Rumors about this device have already appeared online, but the guests of the exhibition had an opportunity to see the smartphone “live”.

Motorola Backflip differs with its original form-factor, which is reflected in the name of the device, in addition, is the first smartphone the trek pad of which is located above the touch screen.
Despite the innovative design, Motorola Backflip runs on Android 1.5 platform running the user interface Motorola BLUR. True, the assurances of the Executive Director of Motorola, the operating system will soon be upgraded to Android 2.1. Backflip is equipped with 3.1-inch capacitive touch screen, 5-megapixel camera with flash LED, 3G support, built-in WiFi module and GPS and, of course, an innovative keyboard QWERTY. In addition, the smartphone is receiving data from a variety of social services and news and updates them on the home screen in real time.
Motorola Backflip will be available in North and Latin America, Europe and Asia in the first quarter of 2010.
