HTC HD2 made official

Shortly after Microsoft has launched the HTC HD2, HTC itself has officially announced a new Windows Mobile 6.5 smartphone as well.

Presented as the first Windows phone with HTC Sense, the HTC HD2 comes to replace the 2008 version of HTC HD.

HTC hasn’t announced all the specifications of HD2 yet, but it’s known that the device will be equiiped with a 4.3 inch capacitive WVGA touchscreen display, Qualcomm Snapdragon CPU at 1Ghz, Microsoft Exchange, proximity sensor, light sensor, Wi-Fi, 5MP photo camera, and HTC Peep – a new Windows-based version of HTC’s Twitter application.

Customers will also be able to buy an optional car kit, which “automatically transforms HD2s user interface into a finger friendly in-car navigation experience for driving.”

HTC HD2 will be available via Orange France during the next few weeks. By the end of October, the smartphone will reach other European markets too.

Unfortunately, the price wasn’t announced.
