The rumors, that Google is going to produce it’s own smartphone, have been denied by the head of Android development department Andy Rubin. He stressed that Google is not going to compete with partners by releasing their own phone. Andy Rubin added that the company is not engaged in hardware.
At the same time Google accepts that sometimes the company participates in the development of Android-phones, as it was in the case of the G1. Andy Rubin joked that such participation is not always of benefit, and so Google does not want to create its own smartphone.
we should remind that the rumors, that Google is going to produce its own phone leaked a few years ago, long before the Android. In mid-October of this year, even Motorola Droid was rumored as Google’s phone.
