According to John Barton, LG director of sales and marketing, the launch of Android-devices is symbolic, since it is a sign for the beginning of the end of expensive and exclusive applications. According to him Android Market offers more than 20 thousand programs, 65% of which are free.

This year the company intends to sell 140 mobile phones. The ultimate goal is the achievement of the second place in the list of leading manufacturers of the industry by 2012. It is planned to release about 20 new smartphones, half of which will be running Google Android, the rest will have Windows Mobile and Linux.
