The Nokia N97 will be available in Q2 2009, at an estimated price of 550 euro before subsidies and taxes.

MID (Mobile Internet Device) – This is a mini computer with a small touch screen, main purpose of which is surfing the net. MID is almost the same UMPC, but with one difference: MID uses adapted version of Linux, UMPC – Windows.

The main feature of MID BenQ S6, according to the developers, is the maximum ease of manipulation, which often lacks the most in UMPC devices.

The company’s senior corporate vice president and president of IT product business group, Jim Wong, revealed that initial shipments of Acer smartphones will begin in Western Europe and Russia.

Wong doesn’t hint on any features or possible designs, but research tells us that Acer’s smartphone for Q1 2009 will feature a touchscreen like the iPhone and will likely cost EUR 500. Hopefully, the usual suspects let us in on any leaks so we can get a clear view of what Acer is preparing.

North America isn’t included in this list. Why? We still don’t know.

The LG KC910 Renoir is supposed to be LG Viewty’s successor, adding more megapixles to the camera and Wi-Fi for good measure.
It’s easy to get blown away by the Renoir’s camera, just remember that they put a lot of work into the video playback and sound, too – it should more than amply handle entertainment, and in terms of straight-up specs it gives the iPhone run for its money.

We have decided to drop the non-disclosure agreement (NDA) for released iPhone software.

We put the NDA in place because the iPhone OS includes many Apple inventions and innovations that we would like to protect, so that others don’t steal our work. It has happened before. While we have filed for hundreds of patents on iPhone technology, the NDA added yet another level of protection. We put it in place as one more way to help protect the iPhone from being ripped off by others.

However, the NDA has created too much of a burden on developers, authors and others interested in helping further the iPhone’s success, so we are dropping it for released software. Developers will receive a new agreement without an NDA covering released software within a week or so. Please note that unreleased software and features will remain under NDA until they are released.

LG intoduced touch phone LG KP500, which won’t be «untouchables» for the average buyer – at least, the producer believes. The price of the touchscreen device has not been disclosed, but it is expected that this phone will be cheaper than top models of touch screen phones.

Since the release of Prada, LG can be called one of the leaders in the production of phones with touch control. Samsung announced its full touchscreen device rather quietly and we have got some pictures and full list of specifications of Samsung M8800.

As we said, this is the second 8 megapixel handset by Samsung, following the Symbian-powered Samsung i8510 INNOV8. M8800 is not a smartphone and has no keyboard and instead a 3.2-inch touchscreen display. The Samsung M8800 has the same TouchWiz interface as the Samsung Omnia and Samsung F480 Tocco.

If you like browsing internet with your mobile then lately announced LG KC910 may look much better in your eyes as Samsung M8800 lacks Wi-Fi functionality.
The Samsung M8800 is set to start shipping as early as 10 November 2008 at a starting price of 550 euro (800 US dollars).

T-Mobile will sell unlimited voice and messaging plans for G1 at 35$ on top of their regular voice plans. As was reported T-Mobile G1 will be SIM locked and no prepaid service will be available.
In UK, T-Mobile G1 will be available in the beginning of November, and in other T-Mobile’s European markets (Germany, Austria, Czech Republic and the Netherlands) the first quarter of 2009. In Europe T-Mobile G1 will cost not more then iPhone 3G.

- Its technical specifications are pretty nice for now days : a 3.2 inch touchscreen display, QWERTY keyboard, quad-band GSM/EDGE and dual-band UMTS support, GPS, Wi-Fi and a built-in accelerometer. Camera of T-Mobile G1 won’t support video recording and as was supposed before Bluetooth will support only mono headset (no stereo and no file transfers). The Bluetooth functionality will be enhanced later on.

- And now the most interesting part of this phone. T-Mobile G1 is the first Android device to see daylight. The G1 will make use of all Google online services such as Gmail (with push support), YouTube, Google Talk, Google Maps with Street View, AmazonMP3 marketplace for affordable DRM-free tracks and finally, Google’s own Android Market, which would supply the handset with third-party applications over-the-air. Somthing unique that G1 offers is the embedded compass, which syncs with Maps Street View allowing live 360-degree cityscape browsing just by turning the handset around.

T-Mobile G1 lacks a lot of features but it’s open to third-party developers.

To take a look at design we must say that it’s not impressing. Android OS looks a really lovely base, the first hardware to be based looks ugly. T-Mobile G1 reminds SideKick.

Can’t say that our hopes of one year came true. We see a poor iPhone replica with a QWERTY keyboard.

It seems Google must choose another producer instead of HTC to make its phone more attractive.
