In New Deli, Head of Marketing of Nokia in India, Devinder Kishore officially stated that «soon» company will show a series of phones with touch screens, including smartphone in N series.

Obviously, the device will be based on fifth version of S60, which was announced togather with Nokia 5800 Touch. Is not known what name will the model get, and how it will look. However, this did not prevent the resource Engadget propose their own skit, a synthesis of Nokia N96 and Nokia 5800.

From N-smartphone with a touch screen are expected more features than from Nokia 5800. Most likely, this will be reflected in better camera (for example, an 8 Mp).

Finally, the most important question about the statements of Kishore is how soon is the promised release.

It is anticipated that this will happen before the end of the year.

Nokia introduced the a new smartphone - Nokia 5800 XpressMusic at the Nokia Remix event. This is the first device of the S60’s family 5th edition, which supports touch screen.

3.2-inch display will provide tactile sensation of impact when clicked, will prevent the operation of sensor closer to accidentally pressed, which contributes to energy saving.

Nokia 5800 XpressMusic supports 60 languages in the world and different methods of entering information from the virtual keypad and QWERTY in hybrid variations to the stylus. Release is scheduled in November, the recommended price of 279 euros, excluding taxes and subsidies.

The largest mobile phone producer in the world Nokia has announced that they are interested to buy OZ Communications – a provider of mobile messaging services in Canada.

The main functions of OZ consist on providing access to instant messaging programs such as AOL, ICQ, Windows Live Messenger, and also to offer email services that work with Gmail, Hotmail, Yahoo Mail, and others.

We can only suppose that, all these features will be used in Nokia made phones.

At the moment OZ has large number of subscribers, estimated around 5.5 million, and Nokia will surely stimulate its growth.

After Nokia acquires OZ Communications, it will have a pretty good advantage to its competitors, as Nokia phones can provide all the messaging solutions for specific mobile phone models, the S60 and Series 40.

It seemed we have couple more days untill the official announcement of smartphone Nokia 5800 Tube, but it had already appeared on the site of mobilecityonline.com. Nokia’s first touch screen phone 5800 Tube  is available for pre-order, but when will shippings start remain unspecified.

Moreover, at the shop simless Nokia 5800 Tube costs $799.99, and for those who make the reservation - $499.99. To be honest, the price is unexpectedly low.

We should remind that the Nokia 5800 Tube is the first smartphone with a touch screen based platform S60.

It is expected that the formal announcement of Nokia 5800 Tube will been held on 2 October.

Nokia is still preparing its first touchscreen phone, though other companies are already fighting for leadership in the market.

Nokia Tube - more officially known as Nokia XpressMedia 5800 will be announced on October 2 and we really hope Nokia will give an honorable response and show its leadership as a worldwide leader overall.

Nokia’s first full touchscreen mobile phone is planned to be launched at a London event together with the arrival of Nokia Comes with Music service.

According to preliminary information Nokia 5800 XpressMusic is based on S60 platform, has a 3.2 Mp camera, a GPS module, and supports HSDPA and Wi-Fi.

Site Symbian-freak.com publishes photos of the phone Nokia E75 - this device is with a QWERTY-keyboard (based on the published movie by Nokia).

The pictures, however, are not clear whether this phone is a slider with sliding keyboard. However, the overall design is strictly - like previous E-series phones.

At the same time, Czech site Mobilmania.cz argues that monoblock E72 actually will be release as Nokia E63, referring to the published XML-file.

If you are still playing around with your N800 or N810 internet tablet you should hear this. Nokia might launch a new version soon. The next generation tablet might be the N900 and it is said to have 3G connectivity, OMAP3 processors from T1 and high definition cameras with photo sharing. A new OS version is also coming soon.

The N900 hasn’t been officially announced and people say Nokia is going to relaunch its tablets and thus it will rename them.

We keep following news from Greepeace expters what concerns mobile industry and now Greenpeace presented «Green Guide of electronics industry», which reflects realities about how companies relate to the issue of cleaner production. This rating is based on data for use poisonous materials in producation, optimizing energy use and waste management industry.

First place in the ranking has Nokia, which got 7 points on the scale of «green» of the 10 possible, mostly due to the fact that since 2005 has been producing phones in which PVC is not used. In second place comes Samsung with five points, which since November 2007 produces LCD panels without polyvinyl chloride.

At the very bottom of a ranking table is Microsoft, Sharp and Nintendo. Nintendo received zero score for almost all criterias, except for the optimization of chemical elements.

One of the most waited phones from Nokia - smartphone Nokia N96, which was announced in February - has finally been put on sale on the European market. Such a long time between the announcements and the start of shipping - isn’t typical for Nokia.

Multimedia phone Nokia N96 will be sold in Europe at the price of an average of EUR550, which is approximately equal to $800.

We should await XPERIA X1, though Sony Ericsson phone will cost at least $200 more, to permanently close season of upcoming mobile phones, started in Barcelona.

Already no one stands in the way of Nokia as final acquisition of Symbian is done. We should remind that Nokia announced its intention to purchase the remaining shares of Symbian as early as in June.

What Chinese couldn’t do well is its design - N97 has turned to be frightening. N97 is slider with a mechanism for turning the camera, which somehow reminds Nokia N90.

By the way, this is not the only case in which China has cloned not yet born phone - at one time Chinese factories managed to issue a model based on an early technical drawings of iPhone.

Though, fortunately or not, the real iPhone was not quite like these drawings.

Nokia today announced that its flagship N96 smartphone, unveiled earlier this year at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain, will be available with support for AT&T’s 3G HSDPA network in the United States.

The Nokia N96 was announced with dual-band UMTS (900/2100Mhz), but this North American version will offer dual-band (850/1900MHz) UMTS instead. All other features will remain the same, including the cell phone’s 5 megapixel autofocus camera with dual-LED flash and Carl Zeiss optics and unique built-in kickstand.

The Nokia N96 also features built-in WiFi and a GPS receiver, alongside a whopping 16GB of internal storage and a microSD card slot for even more storage. A 3.5mm audio port and dedicated music playback keys add to the abilities of this multimedia monster.

The Nokia N96 NAM is set to be available in Q4 2008, with pricing set at EUR550 (US$800) before taxes and subsidies.

Nokia officially announced the latest candy bar smartphone Nokia N79 - a bright phone, which will cost EUR350.

N79 uses Nokia’s S60 3rd Edition Feature Pack 2 user interface, has powerful functionality usual for Nokia, including 5 Mp camera, HSDPA and GPS. The device comes with a MicroSD card of 4 GB, which is designed to highlight its multi-media focus. Users can take advantage of not only Internet services by Ovi, but also one of the first social networks Friendster.

The Nokia N79 features innovative smart Xpress-On covers, which are user-changeable colored housings. When you install a new Xpress-On cover, the theme of the phone’s user interface also changes to match the cover. The phone’s d-pad is also a touch-sensitive NaviWheel, allowing you to quickly scroll through long lists using your thumb.

Xpress-On is available in a variety of colors: Light Sea Blue, Espresso Brown, Olive Green, White and Coral Red. Each phone comes with three such panels.

An now official. Nokia announced its long awaited slider Nokia N85.

Nokia N85 has many times been rumored on the Internet and have written about, a few days ago, Nokia has shown this handset together with a new Carbon 8800.

“The famous dual slider became smaller and thinner, providing, however, new features and services”, - said the head of Nokia’s N-Series departmnet Juha-Pekka Sipponen. Mr Sipponen is no way kidding - apparently phone echoes the latest design trends of Nokia, which, unfortunately, are not liked by everybody.

Final specifications of Nokia N85 are as follows:

Dimensions - 103×50x16 mm, weight - 128 grams. The device is equipped with QVGA-display with 16 million colors (OLED-matrix). Nokia, as we see, so far can not release a mass market smartphone from N-series with a more impressive resolution. The device supports microSD cards capacity up to 8 GB and it’s pretty fresh decision.

Phone has 5 Mp camera with autofocus and 20 multiple digital zoom. The user can enjoy double LED flash. N85 records video in VGA format at a speed of 30 frames per second. Recording formats are: Mp4, 3gp, codecs H.263, H.264. You can watch video on the phone formats of MPEG4, AVC/H.264, WMV, RV, Flash Video, H.263/3GPP.

Buyers of this phone can use the NSeries Media player (formats mp3, wma, aac, eAAC, eAAC +) and 3.5 mm connector for headphones.

It’s not difficult to see, the phone has special keys for N-Gage.

Nokia N85 prices is EUR450, will be available in the market as early as October.

Just recently we posted leaked photos of Nokia N85 and now some sites publish “official” specifications of it and also of an another S60 smartphone - Nokia N79. Though Nokia is going to announce these 2 S60 smartphones tommorow, but let’s see what Electronista and PocketLint report about these devices.

According to these sites, the new slider Nokia N85 will be equipped with a 5 megapixel camera and a GPS system for geotagging photos.

We see that the display of new Nokia N85 will be new AMOLED type with a 2.6″ diagonal, and that its battery will be capable of powering the device for 28 hours of music playback.

N85 supports microSD card slot (8GB card included) instead of built-in storage space. Regarding it’s communication specifications -  WiFi and HSDPA are both supported.

What concerning to Nokia N79, it is said it will be a bar phone designed to replace the N78, and that it will come with smart covers that will change the phone’s theme.

Nokia N79 will be equipped with a 5 megapixel camera with an autofocus, Carl Zeiss lens and a dual LED flash. GPS-reciever is also included.

Nokia N79 will also have an FM radio and it will be compatible with the Nokia Music Store. As N85, this device will also support microSD cards and a 4Gb card will be shipped with it.

Realease date of this S60 smartphone is said to be during the next month.
