On Thursday AOL started a novel SmartPhone Portal that introduces to its users an exclusive Android application.

On Thursday AOL started a novel SmartPhone Portal that introduces to its users an exclusive Android application. The announcement made by the company was part of a renewed endeavor on mobile content and application for AOL. This new endeavor of AOL has been spearheaded by the new Vice President of the Compnay, David Temkin.

The new mobile application that has been released by the company is competent to work on any mobile browser and allows the users to get content from AOL from a single source. Users will have the advantage to use the touch interface on phones that are equipped with HTML5. People using Android and iPhone sets can also access this new mobile application without hassles if they want to scroll through applications and articles. They need to access the touch interface in order to get the above facility.

Temkin in a statement said that AOL has plans to develop applications for many mobile platforms and the new Android technology is the top SmartPhone platform of today. This is the main reason why the company has decided to launch the mobile application platform there. The new Vice President has recently left Palm where he served as the in charge of the development platform.

Google has decided to discontinue with the Nexus One phone that it has designed due to poor sales and customer service complaints.

Google has decided to discontinue with the Nexus One phone that it has designed due to poor sales and customer service complaints. Google Inc announced that the recently launched phones in the market will no longer be available thus ending the company’s endeavor to bring about a revolution in the manner of how mobile phones are distributed over the web. The internet major said that it has received the last shipment of the handsets and it would no longer make the phones available in its Web store once the supplies are exhausted.

The Nexus Phone was released in the month of January and Google has anticipated that the phone would be a bold experiment to sell the above phones to customers over the Internet to consumers without any mobile contract. The company miserably failed in its endeavor and attributed this failure to poor sales and bad customer service.

The other contributing factors to the above decision also pointed out that other mobile phones that were equipped with the Android OS were going to be launched soon in the market and they were potential rivals to the Nexus. Among these phones was the much hyped HTC Corp’s Droid Incredible. This resulted in Google failing to chalk out a successful strategy to sell the Nexus handsets to the public.

According to Citigroup analyst Mark Mahaney, this year Google will be able to sell a small number of smartphones Nexus One – in the range from 1 to 3 million units.

Revenues from the sales of the new smartphone will be only a small part of total turnover of the search giant. Thus, low margin, to which Google employs to stimulate sales, will eventually lead to what every one million Nexus One shipped will give only 1% of the overall profitability of the company, the income of which is 500 million to 1.6 billion dollars.

Pessimistic forecast of sales is due to several factors, including the lack of retail channel to the outside line and the choice of operator T-Mobile, which was only in fourth place in the rating of the U.S. cellular providers.

Meanwhile, Google is not fixed on only one Nexus One produced by HTC. It is expected that there will be other devices in the line. However, competitors are not lagging behind: experts believe that sales of Motorola Droid will exceed 7.5 million units this year, while the sales of Apple iPhone continue to go up.

The rumors, that Google is going to produce it’s own smartphone, have been denied by the head of Android development department Andy Rubin. He stressed that Google is not going to compete with partners by releasing their own phone. Andy Rubin added that the company is not engaged in hardware.

At the same time Google accepts that sometimes the company participates in the development of Android-phones, as it was in the case of the G1. Andy Rubin joked that such participation is not always of benefit, and so Google does not want to create its own smartphone.

we should remind that the rumors, that Google is going to produce its own phone leaked a few years ago, long before the Android. In mid-October of this year, even Motorola Droid was rumored as Google’s phone.

The rumors have been confirmed. The Hero will get the Eclair update.

The rumors are true! Hero will be getting an Eclair update. We ask for your patience as we update Sense for the fancy new Android OS.

Up until now the only device having Eclair has been the Motorola Droid, just announced yesterday. It means the Hero is the second.

How will Sense UI fit into Eclair? And will we now see a huge flood of other Android devices following suit with 2.0 updates?

This statement came from the analyst Tripa Chaudhry of Global Equities Research.

This means that the company will have one month to produce at least one Google-background. Thus, Motorola plans to increase its market share, which in recent years has been steadily decreasing.

According to the analyst, who, as he claims, received from a source inside the company, future Android-backgrounds will be sold at prices ranging from $ 39 to $ 399. However, the success of this event depends on whether, through any mobile giant will sell its smartphones.

As a communicator will be available at a price of$ 199.99 subject to 2-year contract.
Of course, even cheaper G1 can be purchased at Amazon.com (only $100). But if the operator began to lower the cost of this device, it means that the second Android-phone is nearing up.

We may also recall that the technical director of T-Mobile, Cole Broadman promised that the second MyTouch will appear in the first month of summer. Though, its already half of June, yet it is probable that at the end of the month T-Mobile will release his second smartphone based on Google OS.
