The new mobile application that has been released by the company is competent to work on any mobile browser and allows the users to get content from AOL from a single source. Temkin in a statement said that AOL has plans to develop applications for many mobile platforms and the new Android technology is the top SmartPhone platform of today. Pessimistic forecast of sales is due to several factors, including the lack of retail channel to the outside line and the choice of operator T-Mobile, which was only in fourth place in the rating of the U.S. cellular providers.

Meanwhile, Google is not fixed on only one Nexus One produced by HTC. It is expected that there will be other devices in the line. However, competitors are not lagging behind: experts believe that sales of Motorola Droid will exceed 7.5 million units this year, while the sales of Apple iPhone continue to go up.

The rumors, that Google is going to produce it’s own smartphone, have been denied by the head of Android development department Andy Rubin. He stressed that Google is not going to compete with partners by releasing their own phone. Andy Rubin added that the company is not engaged in hardware.

At the same time Google accepts that sometimes the company participates in the development of Android-phones, as it was in the case of the G1. Andy Rubin joked that such participation is not always of benefit, and so Google does not want to create its own smartphone.
