Symbian is first, Windows Mobile unpopular

Published by admin under Symbian, Windows Mobile, BlackBerry

Symbian logoBy the results of the second quarter in the market of smartphones unexpected changes occured: Research in Motion (BlackBerry) is becoming more and more popular and it took second place leaving behind Windows Mobile and. First place is reserved for Symbian, it takes more than half of total sales.

Thus, the operating system on BlackBerry, which is, for the most part, to service only a niche group (although recently RIM is expanding its coverage), was much popular then Windows Mobile, which is positioned slightly wider.

The strongest sales growth are seen from the iPhone - 230% compared to sales of the same period last year, the number of devices - 828 thousand. On the other hand, sales of Linux-devices decreased by 16%. Overall, the market for smartphones increased by 15.7%, they still took 11% of all mobile phones.

BlackBerry Thunder live photos

Published by admin under BlackBerry, rumors

The first images and screenshots of BlackBerry Thunder were only similar to this. Now, finally, we have received practical proof in the form of live pictures that BlackBerry Thunder is real and valid (of course, only time will tell for sure how well it works). Internet resource CrackBerry published the first pictures of BlackBerry Thunder in working with virtual QWERTY keyboard and SureType.

BlackBerry Thunder

Key features of BlackBerry Thunder:

Tactile Response (tactile impact) - when you click on the screen, in response hear the sound click, and you can feel the vibration on finger in a place where you actually clicked on the display.

Full and SureType QWERTY input. In horizontal mode, you can take advantage of the full standard letters on the keyboard. When using the phone in a vertical mode, you can enter data on the keyboard SureType. You can change the orientation of the screen /keyboard at any time.

The screen BlackBerry Thunder supports multi-touch. Smartphone uses WebKit engine as the browser (as iPhone), which is likely to provide stable and convenient web surfing.

BlackBerry Thunder

As the source said, screen keyboard skins are from earlier version of Thunder 4.7 OS. Keys on it are quite large and comfortable. You can also keep the device with both hands and write e-mails. The photos provide yet another confirmation that in the OS of BlackBerry Thunder calling of key functions and advanced options are still tightly tied to the menu button BlackBerry, while on its main competitor iPhone all options are placed directly on the screen.

Among the most notable - a very slow response to touching the screen, as well as halfsecond delay of appearing of characters on screen keyboard. In addition, there are problems with the accelerometer. Source directly said BGR: “Thunder is not yet ready to enter the market, and will not be ready for at least another 4-5 months.”

BlackBerry ThunderWe should recall that according to preliminary information BlackBerry Thunder will be relatively large touch screen device and will not be a traditional hardware keyboard, even as sliders or trackball. However, it is planned to set standard control buttons.

BlackBerry Thunder

Published by admin under BlackBerry, rumors

As the Internet resource Boy Genius Reports, that company RIM will issue its first device with touch screen in the third quarter of this year.

The new smartphone has the code name Blackberry Thunder, this will be the first RIM smartphone without physical keyboard, but with a touch screen. Of all the hardware buttons on the front panel will be present only 4, instead of the usual QWERTY.

BlackBerry Thunder

It is anticipated that the smartphone would support a standard CDMA EV-DO Rev. C, and GSM / HSPA. In principle, the company produces two standard smartphones, so there’s nothing surprising here. The source illustrated the design option of Blackberry Thunder, of course this isn’t the real photo, but gives an idea of the future appearance of BlackBerry Thunder.
