Apple’s profit forecast for the I quarter of this year, based largely on the results of IV quarter of 2008, is expected to be released today. Meanwhile, analysts have quite contradictory views on future sales of products, in particular, successful iPhone.

Thus, the agency Morgan Stanley issued a report that suggested 24% decline in sales of iPhone in the U.S. compared with the previous reporting period. However, not all analysts are so pessimistic. Gene Munster of Piper Jaffay still predicts sales at 6.5 million, despite the economic crisis and the decline of interest in consumer electronics. In the «holiday» quarter, Apple sold 1.75 million of its phones in the U.S. only.
I must say that last year the company from Cupertino has considerably expanded the geography of its sales markets.
