Nokia has reported about 2 million copies of it’s N97 smartphone shipped for only 3 months. The company claims that the sales amount of the device (sales began in June) «exceeded expectations» and broke the record of the previous flagship N95.

Olli-Pekka Kallasvuo did not disclose the total number of smartphones sold, but noted that touch phones are «the clear leaders among all Nokia phones».
However, for sensory smartphones – Nokia markedly inferior to Apple, which sold 5,2 million devices for the same three months period (with a much smaller range of models). Perhaps the situation will change after the report of N900 and N97 mini sales, as well as model X6.
